Month Four - Working with energy

Introduction

The underlying paradigm of energy was first documented five thousand years ago in india. Western science is only now beginning to document what has long been noted by ancient culture, that energy has been known as “the energy body” and “vital force” referring to underlying flow of energy both within the physical body and extending from it. Our energy system may be referred to as “the energy field” or “the subtle body.”

As you go through life, your body, mind and spirit are reaction to energy. Your physical state is a reflection or projection of the health, strength and clarity within your energy system.
There are always two kinds of energies; that which stems from love and that which stems from fear. This month begin to study yourself, with the intention of identifying “am I acting from a vibration of love, or of fear?” and “into whose hands have I commended my spirit?” meaning whom or what have you allowed to draw energy from you, or to take away your sense of empowerment.

My affirmation for this month is…

"My energy is safe, my energy is protected, my energy is my own”

The different energy bodies

Dan tien :

Traditional Chinese medicine is one of the most complexly mapped systems of energy to date. The ancient texts go back five thousands  years and describes techniques to restore energy (chi (qi) still practiced today. According to TCM the lower dan then is what regulates or controls the overall energy or vitality of the body. The middle dan tien is responsible for the heart, thymus, throat and the emotional body. The upper dan is responsible for the head, brain and spiritual body. These energy centers are like wheels of energy within the body and effect the function of our body.

The meridian system :

Surrounding the dan tiens is the meridian system, a series of linear energy channels throughout the body. The meridian system is techniques such as acupuncture and acupressure use among many other techniques as a map. There are 12 regular meridians and 20 meridians in total in TCM. Each regular meridian is believed to correspond to an organ and run along the body to either the hand or the foot

The Chakra :

The chakra system was documented in India five thousand years ago. Chakra’s can be described as subtle energy centres located at the main branching’s of the nervous system in which energy flows through. Blocked energy in any or all of our seven chakras can often lead to illness, so it's important to understand what each chakra represents and what we can do to keep this energy flowing freely.

The Aura :

Descriptions of the aura also originates from Hindu tradition where the aura is described as the aspect of our body that radiates out from physical body and is in constant communication with everything around it. The human aura is a field of subtle, luminous radiation surrounding us and extending outward from our physical form. Auras are related to the electromagnetic field of the body and serve as a visual measure of our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual states.

Everything that we do or think effects the aura, so it is usually in a state of flux, every changing, based on our mental meanderings and physical health. The aura is also affected by the energies of the environment, the forcefields and physical health. The aura is also affected by the energies of the environment, the forcefields of the planet and the radio frequencies that interpenetrate all forms of matter. The aura is an electronic signature of who we are.

The matrix :

Shamanic and aboriginal traditions describe a matrix of energy that is like a grid within the body. This matrix is similar to the Chinese Meridien system, yet is deeper in the body and is a three-dimensional web of energy made up of very fine filaments of energy.

Move energy with attention and awareness

Energy begets energy :

This means that in order to have energy, you must too spend it. And it goes back to our knowing that which we seek, we must first learn to give. If you want more energy, welcome energy back into the body with some movement or something that brings joy to you.
You must expend energy in order to have it return to you.

The energy from the spirit, from the universe enters through the crown of the head, the energy passes through the three main energy centres, the third eye, the heart centre, and the dan tien (the lower abdomen), then the energy enters the earth, where it is transmuted and purified and returned back to you.
