Month One - Grounding 1.0
I have chosen this as the first meditation and point of focus as it begins connecting to the breath, the body and the nervous system. When using meditation as a tool in life, it is important that first there is a foundation of grounding in your earthly body, before moving into any higher states.
This ensures our energy is protected and safe. If we don’t build on these foundations; this can be when we experience anxiety in the body, feelings of disconnectedness, panic attacks, confusion and lack of clarity. The foundations of meditation and of life begin with the breath, and our connectedness to our earth here and now. When this is strong, we can then begin our journey moving toward altered states of consciousness and connection to our subconsciousness.
My affirmation for this month is…
I am grounded to earth like the roots of a tree, free to move with the winds and reach for the sky, yet firmly grounded, connected. I am present moment awareness.
Write it for yourself on a piece of paper …
Writing it out helps it to embed into your subconscious.
Each day when you interact with friends, family, strangers, customers, colleagues, or the person whom serves you coffee, you will either meet them with an impenetrable vibration of your own and continue with your day with little to no effect, OR that person who didn’t smile back, that barista who gave you a bad look or that colleague who made your work load to large, will begin to rub off on you, and you will slowly begin transforming your vibration to be at a level closer to theirs rather than the one you begin your day on. This is one reason we are spending this month working through our grounding techniques so that we begin to vibrate from our CHOSEN energy and vibration, unpolluted and unfocused by other energies, by those we interact with and our external circumstance and environment.

Why is it important to feel grounded?
TO CONNECT TO THE BODY
If we do not ground ourselves in meditation, we risk leaving our earthly body and connection to earth and can be very susceptible to outside energies, feelings of anxiety, light headedness, tingles and a feeling of emptiness in the body
RESILIENCE TO LOWER VIBRATIONS
Without grounding ourselves, we are easily susceptible to other energies, we can become empathic sponges, sucking up whatever energies we come into contact with, and loose a sense of self and feeling of roundedness
INCREASED CLARITY, BRAIN FUNCTION AND EASE OF BREATH
When we are grounded we will experience greater clarity of thoughts, as the energy and oxygen in the body becomes better directed, we will experience greater digestion and daily function in general as our breath deepens and becomes less shallow and inconsistent.
Breath work - Pranayama
Pranayama is the art of controlling the breath, the Sanskrit word can be translated to Prana meaning “Life force” and Ayama meaning “expansion.
There are many pranayama techniques, all of which may be used to ground the nervous system, detoxify the immune system, energise, stimulate, regulate and ultimately connect us to the subconscious.
I have had profound life changes integrating Pranayama into my everyday life and I will be sharing those in video, meditations and our books throughout our entire journey together.
Nature
All of these tools in the grounding are aiding in creating a place inside of you that can create a feeling and being of grounding and connectedness within you, where’ve you are and go
However, if you are ready to take your healing and grounding to the next Level, there is nothing more powerful than nature and time in nature itself.
Combine moments in nature with the technique and meditations you have this month and together they will bring about pure divine connection.
A beautiful forest of the old trees
Science has now begun to show what we have instinctually felt and what ancient cultures have known for thousands of years. When amongst nature, (the older the better), the variation in biome is literally healing at a cellular level. Connecting to the earth and doing so with conscious intention will have you feeling grounded within moments.
Bathe in Nature
A study taken on participants who spent 7 days in forest area showed significantly reduced adrenaline levels to those in the control study who had not.
Forest bathing has a positive effect on your immune system and increases cellular health, increasing anti-cancer properties and proteins as well as being surrounded by anti-oxidative properties in the wood of elderly trees.
“We have symptoms of pain and suffering as we continue to separate ourselves from nature.”
Meditation
Grounding is the physical connection between the electrical frequencies of the human body with Earth’s. Practicing guided grounded meditation allows you to focus your mind on the present and learn to feel more balanced and aware within your body and your surroundings.
When we meditate, it is important to build a foundation of grounding and keep us connected to our root chakra at the base of our spine. Our root charka represents the support and foundation of our life, and our earth body. When this is out of balance we can experience feeling scattered, ill and unable to control our health and this can extend out to the metaphorical areas of our life being financial security and our home.
During meditation, you can use the visualization tools provided in your Amavi guided meditations, connecting to the earth like the roots of a tree, or envisioning a ruby red energy at the base of your spine to begin working into a grounded and strong meditation practice. You might also choose to call your energy back to you with this affirmation.
"I call my energy back to me, all energy that does not belong to me is cleared from my space now. I prosper and thrive with my energy divinely protected”.
Amavi Ritual Exercises
Work with these two answers this month as you learn to capture the moments tension and anxiety begins to gather in the body. And to invite in the ways and moments in which grounding begins to take over the body too.
Play with these, and try to invite the sensation of the second question into the moments you experience the first.
When do you feel the least grounded in your body?
When do you feel the most grounded in your body?
